best and worst

I’ve decided that Friday is definitely my favorite day of the week. Sunday is usually my least favorite. Any thoughts?

Today is Saturday, which is my second favorite day.

Brian is down at the lake trying out the new kayak. I am not at the lake. I am at home trying to get some stuff done. That is not to sound like I think Brian should be here helping, because he usually helps all the time. So far today, I’ve done the majority of my studying for teaching Sunday School tomorrow, and I’ve been outside and cut some vines, briars and weird plants down in the woods behind our fence. I really wish we were allowed to have bonfires in the city limits, because I have big piles of stuff everywhere back there getting in my way, but I can’t really do anything with the stuff except put it on the side of the street to get taken away with the trash, which seems so dumb. At the moment, I’m taking a break because I got really tired yanking vines out of trees. I am listening to music on the TV while blogging and considering a shower. We have secret special plans tonight with the Pattons! I’ll tell you about it later if you’re lucky. I know there are only like 2 people that probably will even see this OTHER than the Pattons, so who am I kidding?

Last night, we went to get a burger at Five Guys. It was pretty good. We came home and had Dan & Carrie over. We mostly talked and laughed, but we also had hot chocolate and coffee and watched  a little bit of the Dave Chappelle Show before watching 2 episodes of Flight of the Conchords. We watched Mugged & Yoko, so Brian got to hear one of his favorite songs in the Yoko episode.

That’s enough for now.

GOOD THING: Saturday!
BAD THING: almost time for a shower

friday fun

I just painted the first coat in our green circus room finally! I was so gld to be done that I didn’t even look at the finished product, but it HAS to be better than green stripes like a circus tent.

Today, I had the best salad in the world. If you ever want to try an awesome salad, go to Franklin’s Homewood Gourmet and get the Baby Blue Salad. It’s sooo awesome.

Brian will be home in a minute! I wonder where we’ll eat tonight? I hope it’s awesome!

I think we’re going to the lake tomorrow for a little while so Brian can try out the new kayak. If we’re lucky, we’re going to Tuscaloosa with the Pattons to eat the best burgers in the world from what I’ve heard from several people. They better be good!

I ordered 3 tapestries from Urban Outfitters this week to make curtains for our bedroom, and they’ve already been delivered and washed! Maybe I will start on those this weekend, too. I LOVE getting things done around the house. It’s so awesome to have a house you know you’ll be in for a while. At the condo, it felt dumb to bother with fixing things up, but it seems worthwhile since we’ve moved.

I need a dog! I am looking forward to spring because it will be warm enough to think about getting one, AND it’s my birhtday! Too bad Easter is the day before my birthday. I hate when Easter messes with my birthday.

Okay, that’s enough because Brian wil be here any second.

GOOD THING: painted!
BAD THING: got lots I wanna do this weekend and not much time

food and other stuff

I finally added a few new songs to my online playlist at www.playlist.com, and they’re good. I really like a few songs I’ve heard from Duffy & Adele. Some of them are just okay.

Tonight, we went out to eat with Brian’s parents’ again; we went to LoVoy’s. We hadn’t been there in a long time. The food is alright, but lots of people around here love it. I guess it’s just because they’ve been around forever, so it’s a tradition to go there. Whatever, but it was free dinner and enough to save for seconds. The best part is that afterwards, we went back to O’Henry’s for dessert! I got another piece of the chocolate cake. I ate about a third of it, and I’m hoping to get 2 more snacks out of it!

There is an old woman in a Camry hanging out (in my opinion) on our street. I have no idea who she is or what she’s doing, but earlier tonight, she was sitting at the end of the road with her caution lights flashing. She turned them off a while later, but the car kept sitting there. We went to dinner, sat around and talked, then came back home. When we turned onto our street, she was in her car driving around the curve in the middle of the road to where we couldn’t get through, and she just kind of stopped there like she didn’t know how to drive through. She finally moved so we could squeeze by, and that is when we looked in, saw her and recognized the car. What the heck is she doing? It was almost 3 hours later than when we saw her the first time.

Brian’s sister is flying back to the US tomorrow for a second (or third, depending on how you count it) interview with some college in Arkansas. They sound really interested in her, so maybe she’ll get the job. If so, I am counting on some trips to Arkansas! That is exciting and weird because Arkansas is one of the places I couldn’t care less about visiting haha. She’s also talking to some college in Missouri, so there’s a big chance she’ll be in the midwest, which is just so far from what I imagined she’d do.

Tomorrow is TV & pizza night!

That’s all I’ve got right now.

GOOD THING: chocolate cake, duh
BAD THING: very sore butt from walking to work yesterday

too much work

I have no time to sit at my desk and breathe! That’s okay, though, because it’s not annoying work – it just takes a while.

I walked to work today! It wasn’t even hard after I got past the first 5 minutes, which includes a giant hill. The rest of the way was downhill. I think it might be worse going home. I’ll know in a couple of hours! At least I am getting a little exercise and using my car less!

GOOD THING: no plans tonight
BAD THING: so tired and my neck hurts some

awesome!

Also, I finally brought my awesome plant back to my office. It wasn’t so happy at my house especially after I cut almost all of it’s branches off. I think it will do well since it’s back at home!

GOOD THING: Mondays go by quickly.
BAD THING: lots to plan for the next month or 2!

good ol’ comics

This is my favorite Married to the Sea in a little while:

I can’t get the picture to work on my weird layout, so you will actually have to click something. Sorry, lazies.

On that note, Sheena, look! Morons ARE everywhere! hahaha

GOOD THING: dinner was quick tonight
BAD THING: 2 more days or work left this week

oh, wednesday

Today is Wednesday. That means I have no plans tonight, and I love it.

Today at work has been slow, but it’s not boring. Perfect!

I’m thinking about trying to steam some shrimp again tonight, but I’m not sure yet. I may not be hungry enough tonight, and it’d mean a trip to Publix beforehand.

I have started watching the new season of The Real World. Does MTV not even advertise anymore? I didn’t even know it had started back up. I think that show’s days are numbered; the past season or two hasn’t been all that, and this season doesn’t look very redemptive. I will still watch them all, but only online so I can save 20 minutes each time.

GOOD THING: free tonight!
BAD THING: ate too much for lunch

honky tonkin’

So, we went to the Red Mountain Theatre Friday night because we had free tickets to see Hank and His Honky Tonk Heroes. Think what you want, but it was really awesome, and I’m glad we went. Brian even liked it! We went with Dan & Carrie after eating dinner at Surin. YUM! I love it. My spicy beef noodle was extra spicy this time, so I basically couldn’t taste anything other than hotness after a while. I also tried some of Carrie’s sushi and had some crab angels, which are ALWAYS awesome, and Surin has the best crab angels I’ve ever had. We also killed some time at Starbucks afterwards before we had to take Dan to the emergency room. Don’t worry! He wasn’t hurt. He just had to work that night, and his current rotation is in the ER. He said it’s been really boring since no one’s getting hurt other than a couple of different women stabbing themselves.

This week, work hasn’t been nearly as busy, so it’s been pretty decent so far. I just completely forgot what day it was and thought it was only Monday night. Toot toot for tomorrow being hump day!

Brian and I went couch shopping this past weekend, but we didn’t find anything we like in the color we want. I plan to go to more furniture stores Friday afternoon. Also, my parents got new furniture in their living room, so we can have whatever we want of their old stuff to put in the basement! They might bring some when they come next, which could be the weekend after the one coming up. I really want another couch soon so we can have people over and give them a place to sit! Maybe we can travel back to IKEA this weekend.

As soon as the weather warms up just a TAD, I am going to try to walk to work. I have actually been a little frustrated at the cold temperatures because I had decided to start right before it rained for a whole weekend and then dropped to the teens.

I almost forgot! Today was Inauguration Day! Toot toot! No Bushy no more.

GOOD THING: Walk/Bike/Carpool to Church meeting went well tonight
BAD THING: can’t remember to go to the bank to make a deposit and change our address on our account – only 2 months late!

coldness

It’s in the teens this morning WHATTTTTTTTTTT?!?!?!?! That is one of my favorite things on SNL lately.

I am so proud of Brian. He was asked to do a photo shoot at work (totally not his job) of a British woman who was in the studio for some cooking show. There are several pictures of her on some site he showed me featuring her, and his pictures are better than those, so surely they’ll be happy with them. She even said she might want one for her next book cover! That would be so cool. He won’t say much about it, but I am still proud of him. They used a photo of his two years ago to put on all their Christmas/Advent publications, too!

Speaking of Brian, he performed a miracle last night! He made Sheena laugh so hard that she cried!  HAHAHA We laughed about it again in bed last night. S AGAIN! WOO HOO!

I can’t think of anything else. I know this was boring.

GOOD THING: Friday!
BAD THING: tired

bienvenido, el fin de semana!

It’s the weekend! I haven’t wanted one this bad in a while. We’re about to go celebrate with the Pattons and the Davises at the dollar theater. We’re seeing Role Models! I just know it’s going to be so funny. Movie, you better not let us down!

GOOD THING: found some sunglasses
BAD NEWS: didn’t clean as much of our floor as I wanted to yet
